Distribution System Plan
Michigan
Every three years, Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) develops and submits a Distribution System Plan (DSP) to the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). The plan outlines how I&M will maintain and upgrade its electric distribution system over the next five years while planning for the continued reliable service for customers and communities.
The DSP is designed to provide transparency into I&M's planning process and the investments needed to continue delivering safe, reliable, and affordable electric service. It serves as a roadmap for evaluating future system improvements that support reliability, resiliency, customer affordability, and emerging technologies that strengthen the electric grid.
As part of the development of the current Distribution System Plan, I&M welcomed input from customers, communities, local governments, businesses, and other interested stakeholders. Stakeholder feedback helped inform I&M's planning efforts and provided valuable perspectives on the needs and priorities of the people and communities served.[
We Heard From You
I&M values stakeholder engagement and encouraged interested parties to participate in the DSP development process. Through stakeholder inclusion, I&M ensures that future investments in the distribution system continue to support safe, reliable, and affordable electric service for customers and communities.
